During the 2018 Summer Shutdown at Gerdau MRM Steel Mill in Selkirk Manitoba, ServcoCanada (formerly DMS Industrial Constructors) successfully completed the replacement of a 14 section 600 Volt MCC 4 at the Melt Shop. This was completed over the course of 1 week from de-energization to re-energization.
Overview
During Summer Shutdown at Gerdau MRM this past summer the ServcoCanada’s (formerly DMS Industrial Constructors) Electrical Division successfully completed the replacement of the mills 14 – 800HP DC Drives. In June 2018 – 2 drives were isolated, disconnected, removed and replaced in June in a 3 day window of time. In August 2018 in 7 days 12 – 800HP DC drives were isolated, disconnected, removed, openings in the concrete floor were modified and new drives were installed, terminated and QA/QC’d in an assembly line fashion that made way for vendor commissioning to commence only 3 days into the shutdown.
