ServcoCanada completed a comprehensive fire restoration of the Amsted Rail facility as the General Contractor.
The project included:
- Structural steel erection and repair
- Crane, pump, compressor, dust collectors, and tank repairs
- Pressure vessel repairs and refurbishment
- Complete electrical refurbishment to code standards
- Demolition of fire-damaged areas (approximately 20,000 sq/ft)
Overview
The fire affected nearly 40,000 sq/ft across three levels, halting production at the Amsted Rail facility. ServcoCanada self-performed structural steel, millwrighting, piping, insulation, and electrical scopes, while coordinating civil, earthworks, cleaning, refracturing, and laborer scopes. Despite the extensive damage, the facility was fully operational within 51 days, with additional upgrades completed to meet building code requirements.
