Safety Incentive Program

ServcoCanada Field Team

Program Purpose

ServcoCanada believes safe work is the foundation of every successful project. The Safety Incentive Program recognizes field employees for continuous safe hours worked and reinforces proactive, hazard-aware behaviour across all sites.

Objectives

• Encourage daily participation in safe work practices aligned with the ServcoCanada Risk Matrix.
• Recognize individual contributions with meaningful, branded rewards.
• Reduce incidents and improve leading indicators (observations, near-miss reporting, corrective actions completed).

Scope

Applies to ServcoCanada & Servco Construction field employees
Office staff and sub-contractors are excluded

Key Definitions

Safe Hours: Hours worked by an employee without any safety incident outside the green zone of the ServcoCanada Risk Matrix.
• Milestones: 500, 1,000, and 2,000 safe hours.
• Green Zone: As defined by the ServcoCanada Risk Matrix.

Rewards & Tiers

Employees earn the right to place an order upon reaching each milestone. There is no deadline to redeem safe hours; however, the maximum bank is 2,000 hours. Saving beyond 2,000 does not allow multiple orders.

Earning Safe Hours

• Safe hours accrue for every hour worked on a ServcoCanada job site when no qualifying incident occurs.
• Hours are tracked in CMiC and reconciled monthly by HSE.
• Employees can “cash in” their points with lower tier prizes or save up for the higher tier prizes.
• Once they cash in their total hours work returns to 0 and the count restarts.

Incidents & Deductions

Each infraction outside the green zone results in a standard 500-hour reduction, or more at management’s discretion based on severity and potential consequence.

Order links sent prior to an infraction may be voided at management’s discretion if the infraction occurs before the order is fulfilled.

If an employee resigns or is terminated, all banked hours are forfeited.

• Hours do not expire; they carry forward while employed, up to the 2,000-hour cap.
• An infraction reduces the bank but does not reset it to zero unless explicitly determined by management for severe cases.

Placing Orders

Order links will be emailed out on a monthly basis to employees that have reached one of the tier milestone hours. Employees can ship directly to their home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Do hours continue while on leave (LOA, vacation, layoff)?
A: No. Safe hours accrue only while actively working. They pause during leave and resume upon return.

Q2: What happens if I transfer between projects or divisions?
A: Hours follow you to all ServcoCanada or Servco Construction projects. CMiC remains the system of record.

Q3: Can I split an order across tiers?
A: No. Each milestone unlocks one order from the corresponding tier.

Q4: What if items are out of stock?
A: Comparable options of equal value will be offered. Supply Chain will minimize delays.

Q5: Can I place an order under someone else’s name?
A: No. Orders must be placed under the name on file with corresponding email address for identity verification purposes.

Q6: Do near-miss reports count against me?
A: No. Near-miss reporting is encouraged. Only infractions/ incidents outside the green zone affect hours.

Q7: Can I give my hours/order link to someone else?

Q8: What if I quit?
A: All banked hours are forfeited on resignation or termination
