Overview
In 2016, 2017, 2018 ServcoCanada (formerly DMS Industrial Constructors) provided base building infrastructure installation for Mechanical, Piping, Heat Tracing, Insulation, HVAC, Electrical Distribution, DC Systems for Distribution Protection and Control, Lighting and Life Safety Systems for Manitoba Hydro’s New Riel and Keewatinohk Convertor Station Bipole III Transmission Reliability Project.
Part of the Bipole III transmission project that links power generated from the lower Nelson River area and delivers to the distribution system in Southern Manitoba. The Riel and Keewatinohk stations convert high voltage alternating current to high voltage direct current and vice versa. Converting to HVDC allows much lower electrical losses over vast distances than standard AC transmission. ServcoCanada (formerly DMS Industrial Constructors) held a critical role in the construction of both converter stations electrical and mechanical systems. This was a design build project ServcoCanada (formerly DMS Industrial Constructors) worked closely with the design team to help finalize the design and execute their scope of work.
Actual Location : Riel Converter Station Winnipeg Manitoba, Keewatinohk Converter Station 725 km north of Winnipeg and 79 kms Northeast of Gillam Manitoba
